Submissions for the 2021 Mental Filmness film festival will open on January 1st, 2021 and run through August 15th, 2021. You can submit your film through Filmfreeway: Mental Filmness – FilmFreeway
Please ensure that your film meets our submission guidelines: that one of the major themes of your film is a portrayal of mental illness, and that mental illness is presented in a respectful and empathetic way.
We will definitely host a virtual festival on the Eventive platform from October 9th, 2021 through November 1st, 2021. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and if it is safe may also host a small Chicago gathering.
There is a $10 fee to submit but please let us know if you’d like to request a waiver—the most important aim is to get as many of these films seen as possible.
