In the dreamlike short Liquid Human, a young woman and a shaman can hear voices in their head. The voices are similar, but not quite the same.
“The inner journey of the main character of this short film is a path on the narrow edge between mental illness and spiritual awakening. To quote Joseph Campbell: The psychotic drowns in the same waters in which the mystic swims with delight.”
The film is loosely based on Autobiography of a Schizophrenic Girl by M.A. Sechehaye.
Liquid Human is currently screening in Shorts Block No. 4 of the virtual festival.
