Hi, all! Just a reminder, you should go check out the INSIGHTS V exhibit on creativity & the bipolar brain next weekend—and not just because I have a piece in it. It’s a wonderful exhibit featuring work by artists living with bipolar disorder, which supports their art as well as a good cause, which is the research into bipolar disorder and early intervention by the Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation.
I was a little bummed that the opening night is a private event, so I can’t really be showered with praise and attention and I’m probably not going to be camping out by my own painting all day pointing to it or holding a sign (probably). Hours are 10-5 on Friday & Saturday, and it’s free. I work Friday but may swing by Saturday afternoon (as we all know, I like to sleep in). However I’m sure it will be well worth a trip to see the other selections as well—I think that’s what I’m most excited about, is meeting the other artists.
Once again this was a huge honor in my artistic career. They say hundreds of artists around the country entered and 20 were selected, and I also received a generous $500 grant which I promptly funneled into the film festival. Most importantly, however, it was for a good cause, which is drawing attention to bipolar disorder by showcasing artists who live with the condition.
