It’s the closing weekend of the Mental Filmness virtual festival, which means it’s your last chance to catch some of these wonderful films, many of which are small indie productions you may not be able to see elsewhere. I’ve made an aggressive attempt to use some online marketing tools but now it’s time to just let it ride out until Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. Central time. If you have the weekend off, I highly recommend catching a few of the films! Link: https://mentalfilmness2023.eventive.org/welcome
I’ve really tried to make it as easy as possible to watch this year. Instead of going to the landing page to get a pass first, you should be able to unlock a film right from within the virtual festival now. You can unlock as many films as you’d like to watch for free. You can pick and choose which films you’d like to watch within a shorts block (though of course I recommend all of them!)
You can vote. I don’t always emphasize voting because I think all of the films are strong in some way, but you should be able to vote on each film, including each short within a block, after watching it. I do tabulate the results and it’s interesting how they always confound my expectations a bit. I will post the results of voting & awards early next week.
A huge thank-you to anyone who takes the time to watch & vote. This is an absolute passion project that is not about money and all about spreading mental health awareness. I really think there’s such a variety of films that there’s something to like for fans of any genre and I know the filmmakers who worked so hard also absolutely appreciate the support and getting an audience for their films. It’s also always neat to see depictions of mental health from all around the world.
Enjoy the movies!
